Home Office Regulations We wish to point out that Au Pairs arriving in England are governed by Home Office regulations which all reputable agencies adhere to. The regulations state that all Au Pairs arriving from NON EU countries must only work 25 hours per week, and have two full days free, plus time for studies and be hosted by English speaking families. Au Pairs are only allowed from the following countries. All countries belonging to the European Union, plus Andorra, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Leichtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, & Switzerland. Au pairs are also available from Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, , Croatia and Turkey, however Au Pairs from these countries will need to obtain Visas.

IF YOU ARE OFFERED AU PAIRS FROM ANY OTHER COUNTRY THIS IS COMPLETELY ILLEGAL, AND THE AU PAIR WILL PROBABLY BE REFUSED PERMISSION TO ENTER THE UNITED KINGDOM.

These regulations also state that Au Pairs are only allowed to be placed in families where English is spoken all the time by the family.

REMEMBER that you will only get out of this relationship what you put in. A little understanding goes a long way.
